The realm of portrait painting is filled with
many different ways to express a person’s creativity, and each of
those methods is given a handy name. There are expressionists,
cubists, new wave artists, and even a new category called extreme
painting. But in the end, all that matters is that you are able to
express your creativity on canvas in your way and that you are able
to put your emotions all together in one picture for the world to
see. Painting is not always about trying to paint the perfect
picture of the person sitting a chair, and nor is it always about
making a perfect recreation of a bowl of fruit. It is about taking
the images you see in front of you and putting them on canvas in
your own way with your own interpretation.
There are people that take up the hobby of painting that want to be
able to re-create things exactly as they see them. To these people
it is not good enough to create something the way that they see it,
they look to gain acceptance by creating things the way everyone
else sees it. This takes years of study and practice, and can
become quite frustrating at times. But if you strive to create
things on canvas exactly as they are in real life, then you are
only happy when your audience is happy. That is asking a lot of a
hobby, but some people strive for this and spend a great portion of
their life studying the methods necessary to be able to create like
that. In the end, if it makes the artist happy then there is really
nothing wrong with it at all.
Some people take up painting to try and re-create things on canvas
exactly as they see them in real life, and then along the way in
their studies they discover a better way to create those images.
Painting is a very personal hobby, and it is right when you feel
that it is right. Take the time to become familiar with the basics
of painting, but then branch out and explore it for yourself and
make this artistic outlet your own.
